Manabursts belong to ordinary random-monster pools and a dedicated Astral Plane selection. They are initially hostile, have no ordinary possessions and move randomly. The hostile damage uses the manastorm-style damage category, not ordinary physical or one of the three elements. Preventing HP damage does not by itself prevent the separate attribute losses and dispelling. == Feeling of warmth ==
An ordinary kill has a 50% chance to leave zero-weight remains called ''feeling of warmth''. Eating them performs a random spell-research attempt like the [[Draft:Scroll of spells|scroll of spells]]. Research can fail; success learns an unknown spell or reduces the cost of a known one. == Strategy ==
Remove the ordinary hostile manaburst's single HP from a distance. It has no innate immunity, but stepping beside it to exploit its weak appearance risks permanent attribute loss and dispelling. Do not expect the explosion itself to produce a research corpse. Treat the peaceful benefit as conditional on its actual attitude, not as a reason to approach a normally generated hostile specimen.
