Noncursed drinking clears slowing and adds 100''B'' plus a random 0–249 haste units, where ''B'' is blessing strength. An uncursed bottle can roll zero; +1 blessing adds 100–349 units. The counter is reduced by minute-status updates, including the additional updates at ten-minute boundaries. Repeated use adds duration even when the message suggests little has happened.

Haste halves the speed value during combat-stat calculation, subject to the usual limits, burden, equipment and other modifiers. Lower speed values mean shorter delays for speed-scaled actions.
