Omega 0.90.4

The Prime Sorceror leads the Circle of Sorcerors and guards the Star Gem in the Circle's otherworldly demesne. The initial incumbent is Blackskull; the office can instead reflect an earlier character's name and recorded abilities.[1][2]

Encounters

The named Prime who conducts initiation in Rampart's guild dialogue is not a monster standing in that city service. The physical Prime is placed in the demesne reached from the Astral Plane. While the Star Gem has not been taken, that version of the Prime carries it.

The Prime can also appear as a randomly selected mansion resident in Rampart. A mansion encounter starts hostile, with the resident asleep at night; it does not provide the demesne's Star Gem merely because the same official's name appears.

In the demesne, a Chaotic active Circle member can meet a peaceful Prime. Nonmembers face a hostile Prime, and neutral membership alone does not make the Prime peaceful. The guild membership that permits city services should not be mistaken for universal protection from its NPCs.[3][4][2]

Conversation

A peaceful Prime in the demesne puts carried possessions on the floor and vanishes. Ordinarily this provides the Star Gem without killing its guardian. If the Gem was already taken and is no longer carried, the speech about producing a gem does not manufacture a replacement.

Outside the demesne, a peaceful Prime offers a different benefit to active Circle members: current Power increases by your Circle rank, mana increases by the normal capacity calculated from that improved Power, and you gain 1,000 experience. Maximum Power is not raised. The Prime then vanishes, so this is not a repeatedly selectable service from the same NPC. A nonmember gets the display of sparks but no corresponding reward.[5][6]

Hostility

A hostile Prime uses an opening special attack that attempts to summon four demon princes around the player, then switches to ordinary monster spellcasting. Actual arrivals depend on space for the summons. If the opening special action occurs while the Prime is peaceful, it simply switches to spellcasting; becoming hostile later does not restore that opening summon.

Other inhabitants of the demesne can also retaliate as a group when provoked. Peaceful treatment by the Prime is therefore not permission to attack the attendants without consequences.[7][8]

Strategy

For a Chaotic Circle member seeking the Star Gem, conversation is a direct alternative to fighting the Prime. The item is dropped onto the floor, so collect it before leaving. The guild's instruction about destroying the Gem on Star Peak is separate from the Order's route of giving it to the LawBringer.

Outside the demesne, the Power reward boosts the current attribute only. A later effect that restores Power to its maximum need not preserve that excess. The mana award can raise current mana above normal capacity.

Becoming Prime yourself requires the guild's Crown quest and sufficient character level. Killing a Prime NPC does not grant the player that rank. Treat a mansion's hostile resident as an encounter with its own risks, not as a convenient alternate guild desk.
