The potion of invisibility grants temporary invisibility, causing many monsters to wander or stop pursuing the player directly. A cursed copy is a potion of aggravation and instead makes night-gaunt abduction much more dangerous.

Generation and appearance

It is a common level-2 random potion with a shuffled container appearance. Transparent nasties begin with fixed copies. Random copies begin uncursed with a generated nonnegative plus.

Data and mechanics

Each copy weighs 20, has fragility 5, a base value of 100 Au, and item level 2. Plus does not affect duration.

Effects and interactions

Uncursed	Adds 2 invisibility units and identifies itself.
Cursed	Adds 1 through 10 vulnerability units and does not identify itself.

While the player is invisible, several kinds of monster move randomly or stop their usual direct pursuit. Invisibility does not prevent every attack or special ability. Cursed vulnerability has one practical danger in 0.90.4: it makes a nearby night gaunt's grab-and-teleport attempt certain instead of the usual one-in-five chance.

Strategy

Use invisibility before crossing monster-controlled space, but do not assume every attack or special is disabled. Blessing increases duration from 2 to 7. Avoid testing unknown copies near night gaunts, because cursed vulnerability guarantees their abduction check while it lasts.
