Draft:Temple of Odin
The Temple of Odin, called the Shrine of the Noose in room descriptions, is the granite main temple at (22, 30) in LOCUS's southern mountains. Its altar and High Priest of Odin serve the lawful religion; the priest's symbol is also sought by followers of Set and by Druids.[1]

H marks the usual high-priest placement. Player succession can suppress that priest and reveal the passage; random encounter contents and initial hostility follow the shared temple rules.
Entry and inhabitants
Enter the countryside temple marked X. The shared temple layout places arrival at (32, 15), the altar at (32, 3), and the high priest at (6, 2), behind the hidden passage at (30-31, 2). Leave through the three southern exit cells.[3]
Odin's followers receive a nonhostile initial population; outsiders do not. Five militant priests and 27 possible random encounters accompany the high priest. The supplied first incumbent is Gallow, but previous games or a priest's death can change the office-holder.[4]

The rival temple is Set's. The character-level and priesthood-experience requirements are described in High priests. The physical priest's ordinary conversation does not replace the altar service.[5]
Strategy and return
For admission and ordinary prayer, compare the easier-to-reach Odin altar in the Rampart Pantheon. Travel here when the resident symbol or the main temple itself matters. If seeking the symbol as an outsider, prepare for hostile defenders and remember that stealing it does not authorize its activation.
Re-entry reconstructs the scene. The missing-priest rule can remove this source after the player has already attained a recorded high-priest office, even of another religion.[6]
