The Rampart Diner is an all-you-can-eat restaurant in Rampart. A meal costs 25 Au and fills you up on the spot. It does not supply an item to carry away.

Service
Find its shopfront and read the sign to add diner to city travel. Accept the meal prompt with at least 25 Au. The meal sets your food reserve to 44; it does not add 44 to what you have already eaten. The normal hourly hunger check consumes one point, though other effects can also alter your reserve.
There is no membership requirement, and the Diner has no closing-hour check. It supplies food, not healing or disease treatment.
Strategy
The Diner is useful when substantially hungry and about to leave the city. A 5 Au ration may be enough for a small top-up, while a Diner meal is more convenient for restoring a depleted reserve. Buy portable rations separately for the journey.
Do not eat a ration immediately after the meal: 44 plus a ration's eight exceeds the food limit of 48, causing vomiting and reducing the reserve to 12. "All you can eat" is already enough.
Eligible Order members can instead return to headquarters for a free meal and recovery services. Other characters can use the Diner without committing to that career.
Les Crapeuleaux charges 1,000 Au to add only eight nourishment, making it a luxury alternative. At night, the tavern's bed and breakfast also costs 25 Au and provides food plus a poison/disease cure, but advances the clock six to nine hours. Choose the Diner when you want a meal without that stay.
Trivia
An unaffordable order is answered with "TANSTAAFL!" The acronym means "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch" and was popularized by Robert A. Heinlein's 1966 novel The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. It is a particularly literal joke at a restaurant refusing to feed someone without payment. See the expression's history.
