A potion of accuracy promises better aim, but does not provide the expected hit bonus in Omega 0.90.4. The apparent benefit in its drinking message is misleading.[1]
Generation
It belongs to the item-level-3 ordinary potion pool, and can appear at the pawn shop or through acquirement. Its 200 Au base value can make an identified copy more useful for sale than for drinking.[2][3][4][5]
Description
Noncursed drinking prints a message about bullseyes but does not grant the intended +20 hit bonus, even after combat statistics are recalculated. It records a nominal duration of 1–5 plus five times blessing strength, but that duration is disconnected from the actual combat benefit. A cursed bottle clears that nominal effect without directly removing a working accuracy bonus from equipment.
Both forms record the type as known. Neither enchantment nor stronger blessing repairs the missing bonus. The ordinary accuracy spell shares this problem; it is not a working substitute for the potion.
Equipment that grants accuracy can supply the working combat bonus. The potion's failure therefore does not make every item with accuracy in its name ineffective.[6][7][8][9]
Strategy
Do not rely on the bullseye message as evidence that an important attack has become more likely to hit. Compare the actual displayed hit value before and after, and use working equipment or heroism when a hit bonus is needed.
Selling a known bottle can fund useful preparations. Full identification may improve the offer, but compare its fee with the gain rather than paying automatically. There is no reason to invest blessing or enchantment solely to repair this potion's missing combat bonus.
