Draft:Oracle of the Cyan Flames
The Oracle of the Cyan Flames offers free self-knowledge and guidance through Omega's major adventures. Her sanctuary lies inside Rampart's hedge maze, with a blue dais, bell and mirror. Its position varies with the maze layout; read its sign to discover the oracle city-travel destination.[1]
Mirror and bell
The mirror displays your character's condition, including attributes, alignment description, temporary effects, immunities and rank information. It can be consulted repeatedly without payment. This is self-knowledge, not an identification service for your inventory.
Ringing the bell summons the Oracle. Decline the offer to attack her to receive advice or an invitation onward. She gives the first unfinished lead in this sequence:
| Lead | What advances the advice |
|---|---|
| Speak to the ArchDruid | Speak with a non-hostile ArchDruid; accepting his neutralization ritual is not required |
| Explore the caves to the south | Kill the Goblin King |
| Explore the depths of Rampart | Kill the Great Wyrm in the sewers |
| Visit the Archmage's castle | Enter its court |
| Journey to the Astral Plane | Successfully activate the Star Gem |
| Enter the infernal maw | Kill the Demon Emperor |
| Accept the final challenge | Complete the Challenge of Adeptness |
These leads are not the same as the Duke's material turn-ins or guild promotions. Obtaining Defender without killing the Great Wyrm, for example, can help a castle quest without advancing the Oracle's sewer advice. Similarly, killing the Elemental Master does not by itself clear her Astral milestone.
Once the first four leads are complete, she offers her hand for a trip to the Astral Plane. Accepting awards 5,000 experience and transports you immediately. Declining leaves you in Rampart. Prepare for the journey before accepting; the Prime Sorceror carries the Star Gem relevant to this route.[2][3]
Attacking the Oracle
Choosing to attack makes her vanish and breaks the mirror; it is a scripted choice, not a fight against a monster on the dais. Before your Astral milestone is complete, later visits offer only a journey through that broken mirror. Accepting reduces you to 1 HP and sends you to the Astral Plane without the normal 5,000-experience reward.
Successfully activating the Star Gem restores access to the normal bell-and-mirror menu on later visits, even after this attack. It does not erase the attack from your history: the Oracle's remote congratulations after several boss victories remain suppressed.[4][5][6][7][8]
Strategy
The mirror is a useful free check on conditions and affiliations, especially before an expedition. Locate the sanctuary while exploring the maze so that future visits can use city travel.
Treat the bell's attack question seriously. There is no ordinary combat prize to win, and the broken-mirror route leaves almost no margin for survival. The Oracle gives a progression outline rather than a mandatory order for every independent guild quest; use her advice alongside the castle and guild requirements.
