Draft:Temple of Set
The Temple of Set, or Temple of the Black Hand, is the black sandstone pyramid at (45, 45) in LOCUS's southeastern desert. It houses the High Priest of Set and the symbol required by an aspiring High Priest of Odin.[1]

H marks the usual high-priest placement. Player succession can suppress that priest and reveal the passage; random encounter contents and initial hostility follow the shared temple rules.
Entry and layout
The temple follows the shared 64 by 16 layout. Arrival and the return exits are at the southern center; the altar is at (32, 3). Search north of it at (30-31, 2) for the westward passage to the priest's chamber at (6, 2).[3]
Set's followers start with a nonhostile temple; other visitors face unpacified inhabitants, including five fixed militant priests. Kharst is the supplied initial high priest, but the recorded holder may change. Random encounters follow the common temple population.[4]
Faith and rival symbol

The corresponding rival destination is Odin's main temple. Later promotion checks differ from initial admission; use High priests for the full thresholds. Taking the symbol is separate from worshipping at a foreign altar.[5]
Strategy and return
Use the city's Set altar for routine religious service when it is the safer option. An Odin follower arriving for the symbol should expect the temple's defenders, not a peaceful audience merely because the quest demands the item. Preserve the symbol for promotion and do not invoke an identified stolen copy.
Exit south to the countryside. A return rebuilds the scene, subject to the high-priest suppression rule once the player holds a recorded office.[6]
