Draft:High Priest of Odin
The High Priest of Odin leads Odin's priesthood. The initial holder is Gallow, a melee fighter who carries the Holy Symbol of Odin, seen unidentified as a Silver Gallows. That symbol is required for the final promotion of Set's followers and is one of four accepted for becoming Archdruid.

Encounters
Gallow's main temple is the Shrine of the Noose, southwest of Rampart at world coordinates 22, 30. The priest occupies its northwestern chamber, reached through the concealed passage north of the central altar. The temple starts peaceful for Odin's followers and hostile to other visitors.
The high priest may also appear in mansions, wilderness encounters or a random historical-person summon. A mansion encounter starts hostile even if you worship Odin. See High priests for the shared generation rules and the missing-priest behavior after promotion.
Gallow gives ordinary personal remarks when spoken to; the greeting naming Gallow during admission to Odin's faith belongs to the altar service. The physical NPC does not provide a second priesthood menu. Later holders can have different combat abilities and dialogue based on their recorded careers.
Succession and strategy
To take this office, become a Senior Priest of Odin, exceed Gallow's recorded level and bring the Holy Symbol of Set to Odin's altar. Initially this requires character level 11, not merely exceeding Gallow's combat level of 7. The promotion grants Restoration, +5 current and maximum Power and an authorized Symbol of Odin.
Set's followers instead need Gallow's carried symbol. A successful theft can obtain it without killing him; killing him does not award either priesthood and installs a new holder without lowering the level requirement. That replacement is a spellcaster, so an unnecessary kill can make later visits harder.
Preserve a positive alignment when advancing as an Odin priest: successful theft moves you one point toward Chaos. Do not activate an identified stolen symbol; only the symbol authorized through promotion is safe for its matching patron, subject to its reuse restriction.
