A potion of invisibility disrupts the pursuit behavior of creatures that rely on the relevant movement routines. It is useful for avoiding attention, but does not make every attack or interaction harmless.
Generation
It is an item-level-2 ordinary potion, obtainable from random loot, pawn-shop stock and acquirement. Ambrosias transforms a transparent nasty's remains into a blessed bottle, normally for 60 Au. Eating the remains instead invokes invisibility directly.
Description
Noncursed drinking adds 2 + 5B invisibility units. The counter normally decreases at ten-minute status updates. An uncursed bottle adds two units, while +1 blessing adds seven; enchantment does not affect this duration.
Several normal, smart, spirit and related movement routines switch to random movement when the player is invisible. This can interrupt pursuit, but does not remove hostile status or disable all special attacks. Visibility, line of sight and each creature's behavior still matter.
A cursed bottle adds 1–10 vulnerability units instead. Despite the name potion of aggravation, this call does not awaken and make every creature hostile through the general aggravation effect. Vulnerability is still harmful, including in theft checks. Noncursed use identifies the potion type; cursed use does not.
Strategy
Use invisibility to prepare a crossing, disengage from a pursuer or approach an objective with less reliable tracking. Blessing substantially extends its short ordinary duration. Do not assume that standing next to a dangerous creature becomes safe simply because it can no longer pursue normally.
The invisibility spell supplies the ordinary effect, and an invisibility cloak can provide an equipment alternative. Speed and a known escape scroll can complement invisibility when avoidance fails. If the immediate problem is an invisible enemy, true sight is the relevant countermeasure; drinking invisibility does not let you see them.
