A potion of regeneration gradually converts mana into HP while the player is injured. It is useful for recovery over time, but offers no immediate burst of healing.[1]

Generation

It is an item-level-4 ordinary potion, available through random loot, pawn-shop stock and acquirement.[2][3][4][5]

Description

A noncursed potion adds 50(B + 1) regeneration units, with B denoting blessing strength. At each minute-status update, an injured player with at least one mana gains 1 HP and spends 1 mana. The counter decreases even if the player is uninjured or out of mana. These updates occur at each ordinary minute and again at ten-minute or hourly boundaries; see potion durations.

Regeneration stops healing at maximum HP and does not remove poison, disease, blindness or attribute loss. Unlike ordinary periodic HP recovery, this individual regeneration step does not check disease. Repeated potions add duration, not additional HP per update. Enchantment does not improve the rate or duration.

A cursed potion invokes direct disruption instead: at curse strength −c, it deals a random 0 through 100c HP loss. This is not ongoing regeneration in reverse and can kill immediately if HP becomes negative. Neither the beneficial nor cursed use automatically identifies the type.[6][7][8][9]

Strategy

Use regeneration when there is time to recover and mana is available. Spellcasters should account for the same mana being needed for offense or escape; regeneration can consume that reserve automatically while injuries remain. Blessing buys more time but does not make the healing faster.

Use healing for an immediate HP emergency and curing to remove disease or poison. The regeneration spell offers the ordinary-duration effect, while a regeneration ring can supply a lasting equipment alternative. A possibly cursed bottle is particularly dangerous to test at low HP because the ordinary −1 curse already allows up to 100 disruption damage.
