Rampart Arms is the condominium in Rampart, offering a week of recuperation for rent or a permanent home with item storage. An owner can also retire here to end the game.[1]

Location City travel name Weekly rental Purchase Opening hours
Random shop site condo 1,000 Au 50,000 Au All hours

Renting and buying

Find the building and read its sign to add condo to city travel. Before purchase, r rents a week of rest and p buys the penthouse. Renting pays for that rest only; it does not unlock storage or reduce the purchase price. Purchase requires the full 50,000 Au in carried cash.

Return after buying to use the owner's menu: a stores items, b retrieves them, c selects a week of rest, and d offers permanent retirement. Rest selected in this menu takes effect when you leave the menu. Selecting it repeatedly before leaving still schedules only one week.[2]

A week of rest

Both rental and an owner's rest refill HP, restore all six current attributes to their maxima, and set food to a well-fed level. Temporary status effects below the game's permanent-effect threshold are cleared, including ordinary poison and disease, but beneficial temporary effects are cleared as well. Effects at or above that threshold can remain, and equipped items have their effects removed and reapplied around the restoration. Rest does not uncurse those items and does not directly refill mana.

The date advances by seven days. This is a special recovery operation, not seven days of ordinary turns with all their hunger, wandering encounters and random events. Ownership makes later weeks of rest free.[3][4]

Storage

The safe accepts selected inventory items and keeps them between visits and saved games. Storing an equipped item first removes its equipment effect. Cursed items are refused even if they are not currently equipped. Items are offered for retrieval from the most recently stored onward.

Selective retrieval has a bug in 0.90.4. If you skip an item and then take two consecutive later items, the last one can remain listed in the safe despite already being in your pack. Taking it again can make the same item appear twice in your pack, without creating two independent copies.

Two ways to avoid this case are to take every item from the start of the list, or to take just one item per visit: quit the remaining retrieval prompts with q, leave the condominium menu, and return before retrieving another. After q, selecting retrieval again during that same visit does not restart it.[5][6]

Retirement

Choosing d and confirming y ends the current game with a win display. The condo does not require completion of the main adventure before accepting retirement. It is an ending, not an extended rest or a way to suspend play and return to the same character later.[1]

Strategy

Rental is a useful recovery option for a character with several drained attributes or troublesome temporary conditions. For a small injury or ordinary disease alone, the Healers are cheaper; current Paladins also have free return services. Those alternatives do not provide the condo's complete attribute restoration.

At night, the tavern offers a 10 Au poison/disease cure and a 25 Au bed with food, while the House of the Eclipse refills HP as part of a 500 Au stay. Neither restores all drained attributes. The Arms' week explicitly advances the date by seven days; the nighttime establishments have different, sometimes inconsistent calendar behavior.

Buying pays for storage and convenience as well as rest. The purchase price equals fifty rentals, so rest alone is a slow way to recoup it. Storage matters more when you have valuable spare equipment that should not occupy the traveling pack. Allow for the retrieval bug when organizing that collection.

Version note

An older circulated spoiler quotes a weekly rent of 10,000 Au. In 0.90.4 the quoted price and actual charge are both 1,000 Au.[2][7]
