Draft:Legion of Destiny
The Legion of Destiny, Mercenary Guild, Inc. is a martial guild headquartered in Rampart. It supplies a basic weapon and armor on enlistment, raises physical attributes through promotion, and pays substantial one-time cash awards. Its money can support equipment purchases, training or another career.[1]

Joining
Visit headquarters during the day and accept the recruiting centurion's offer. You need Strength 10 and Constitution 12, and cannot be an active member of the Gladiators' Guild or Order of Paladins. There is no alignment requirement or enlistment fee.
Enlistment grants a short sword, soft leather armor, 500 Au, and +1 to both current and maximum Strength and Constitution. The sword and armor are ordinary, unenchanted equipment. You begin as a Legionaire.[3]
Service and promotion
Guild experience begins accumulating after enlistment. Experience awards are divided between memberships that use guild experience, so joining several such organizations slows each one's advancement. Your ordinary character experience still receives the whole award. Arena registration does not take a share of this pool.
Return to headquarters to claim a promotion once its conditions are met. Only one rank is awarded per visit. The cash described as pay or salary is a promotion award, not money collected on every visit or every day.

The final quest consumes the Regalia, the Demon Emperor's remains. He is found on the bottom level of HellWell Volcano; promotion dialogue points toward his volcanic stronghold in the southern swamp. The incumbent's level depends on the game's recorded history; the supplied initial Commandant is Sonders at level 10. Reaching level 10 yourself is not enough to exceed him. Killing a Commandant encountered elsewhere grants no promotion and does not lower this recorded level.[4][5][6]
Strategy
The Legion is a flexible start for a physically qualified character who wants spending money without an alignment obligation. Keep the issued sword until a particular replacement solves a problem; the starting-weapon comparison is more useful than assuming the first 500 Au must be spent immediately.
Its later cash can buy repeated Gym sessions, but training is not guaranteed to improve a maximum attribute. Budget for useful gear and supplies as well. Unlike the Order, the Legion does not provide free return-visit healing and food.
Join before earning substantial early experience if you intend to follow this career. Visit again when you have crossed a promotion threshold, and remember the barracks curfew. Ordinary repeat visits do not create a stream of free salary.
Background
The full corporate name sits alongside centurions, barracks, commanding officers and retirement ceremonies. The game also advertises Commandant Sonder's fast food, but that shop's fixed sign does not track succession to the Legion's command.[1]
