Bearer bonds are valuables initially described as old illegible documents. Their 3,000 Au base value and weight of only 5 make them the most compact of the four dedicated miscellaneous valuables.[1]
Generation
The bonds are item-level-5 random miscellaneous items, possible pawn-shop stock, and an acquirement choice. Shallow random sources can produce them through the ordinary over-level exception.[2]
Value and use
The sale prices below assume a noncursed copy; both buyers refuse cursed items.
These documents are not a scroll and have no activation effect. Once identified, each copy sells for 1,500 Au at the pawn shop or 2,000 Au through the guild fence. Before identification, the appraisal routine values it at only 1 Au. Blessing or enchantment does not increase its real value.[3]
Treasure gifts use the full 3,000 Au value even while the documents are unknown. Give them away only when that sacrifice is justified.
Strategy
At 600 Au of base value per weight unit, bonds are excellent loot to carry home. Preserve suspicious documents for identification instead of selling them at the unknown-item price. Their low fragility threshold of 1 also makes them vulnerable to effects that damage possessions, such as acid traps; a high sale value is not protection from destruction.[4]
