A pepperoni pizza pie is food that adds eight food points. It provides the same nourishment as a standard ration at one tenth of the weight.[1]
Generation
Pizza is an item-level-2 random food, possible in pawn-shop stock and through noncursed acquirement. Ordinary copies are unblessed. Its fixed unidentified appearance is a messy red and white disk.[2]
Description
Eating consumes one pie and adds eight reserve points, clamping a negative result to zero. There is no additional healing or speed effect. Blessing and cursing do not change its nourishment, and a random unpleasant taste message does not mean it is poisoned.[3]
A starting reserve of 40 or below avoids overeating. Like other ordinary meals, pizza can also feed a hungry non-horse creature when greed or need does not take priority.[4]
Strategy
Replace heavy rations with pizza when available. It is a useful balance between carrying efficiency and a meal small enough to use before becoming severely hungry. Do not eat it immediately after a Diner meal: reserve 44 plus eight exceeds the limit.
