Draft:LOCUS
LOCUS is the world named in Omega's in-game guide to Rampart. The city is surrounded by countryside linking villages, temples and more remote destinations.[1][2] This article covers the region represented by Omega 0.90.4's overworld map. It is a draft, with brief entries for countryside destinations whose full articles have not yet been written.
World map
This is a spoiler map: it shows the underlying terrain, including concealed destinations and mountain passes. In a new game, several sites initially appear as ordinary mountains, desert or the Sea of Chaos. Searching can reveal their true terrain.[3][4]
Coordinates start at (0, 0) in the upper-left corner; x increases to the right and y downward. Symbols and their color groups follow the game's terrain definitions. Village file markers a–f are displayed as o, and temple numbers 1–6 as X, matching their loaded terrain types.[5][6]
Terrain key
| Symbol | Terrain | Symbol | Terrain |
|---|---|---|---|

| - | Plains | . | Road |

| ~ | River | = | Swamp |
| " | Desert | + | Sea of Chaos |
Terrain names and symbols come from the 0.90.4 definitions.[6]
Places
The map directory gives the fixed entrances. Rampart, the six villages and the six remote destinations have independent draft articles; the main temples currently have short descriptions below. These are destinations reached from the countryside, distinct from the rooms and facilities inside Rampart.[7]
Rampart
Rampart is the city at (27, 19), connected to the countryside road network. Its draft includes a city map and an index of shops, guilds, temples and other facilities.[5][8]
Remote destinations
The following entrances have distinctive surroundings once discovered.[9][10]
| Destination | Entrance and surroundings |
|---|---|
| Archmage's Castle | (6, 1), northwestern mountains; sixteen dungeon levels, the Archmage's court and High Magic throne. |
| Star Peak | (61, 3), northeastern mountains; LawBringer and Star Gem delivery. |
| Goblin Caves | (27, 22), south of Rampart; ten levels and the Goblin King, linked to Duke and Oracle quests. |
| Dragon's Lair | (60, 34), eastern desert; Dragon Lord, elite dragons and a guarded hoard. |
| Magic Isle | (4, 54), southwestern Sea of Chaos; Eater of Magic and the college's heart quest. |
| HellWell Volcano | (30, 58), southern crater; twenty levels and the Demon Emperor, linked to Legion and Oracle quests. |
Directions above are relative positions on this map, not travel routes or assessments of safety. See the linked drafts for entry, return, quest conditions and encounter details.[5][9][11]
Villages
There are six fixed village entrances. The numbers identify their map files; they are not a recommended visiting order. Each has a distinct magical stone.[12]
| Village | Position in this region |
|---|---|
| Star View (1) | (56, 5), northeastern road end; Lawstone. |
| Woodmere (2) | (35, 11), northern forest road; Balancestone. |
| Stormwatch (3) | (10, 40), western end of the southern road; Chaos stone. |
| Thaumaris (4) | (7, 6), northwestern mountains beside the river; Mindstone. |
| Skorch (5) | (41, 43), western edge of the southeastern desert; Sacrifice stone. |
| Whorfen (6) | (20, 41), near the southern river and swamp; Voidstone. |
These positions follow the 0.90.4 map.[5]
Main temples
These countryside temples are separate from the Rampart Pantheon. Their file numbers select Odin, Set, Athena, Hecate, Druidism and Destiny in that order.[13]
| Temple | Surroundings and description |
|---|---|
| Temple of Odin | Southern mountains; rough-hewn granite. |
| Temple of Set | Southeastern desert; a black sandstone pyramid. |
| Temple of Athena | Northeastern mountains beside the river; marble columns. |
| Temple of Hecate | Southern swamp; ebony adorned with ivory. |
| Temple of Druidism | Northern mountains surrounded by forest; a temple formed of living trees. |
| Temple of Destiny | Far southeast, within a pocket of the Sea of Chaos; mysterious blue crystal. |
Map positions and entrance descriptions are shown here; priesthood and succession are covered in High priests.[5][14]
Version notes
The map and destination numbers on this page are for Omega 0.90.4. They represent fixed underlying geography, not the player's explored area, current position or changing terrain during a particular game. The loaded map distinguishes concealed terrain from its underlying identity.[2]
